Church Name and Episcopal Flag
News of the Week from Saint Wilfred Episcopal Church

Sunday is Bishop Doug Scharf's first official visit to our parish.  He will be conducting Confirmations, Receptions, and Reaffirmations during the service.  WEAR YOUR FESTIVE HOLIDAY OUTFITS (we will NOT be wearing our "People of Hope" shirts as previously mentioned) and please remember your name badges. For Coffee Hour we will have Bill's annual "Feast of the Seven Fishes" (there is MUCH more than seafood served - it is an Italian feast including pasta). The offering plate contributions will go towards the Bishop's Discretionary Fund.

Stewardship and the Advent Giving "season" has begun. By now you should have received  information on our activities, monetary & volunteer opportunities, and your annual pledge card. Funds postmarked by December 31st will be credited towards your 2024 giving. And please return your pledge card as soon as possible so we may begin working on the 2025 budget.

The Preschool Christmas pageant is Thursday, December 19th at 11:30. Please consider coming to see this adorable annual event!

This month's plate collection is for the Daughters of the King Outreach programs.

Facebook is a fun way to stay connected with the Church and its news and happenings! You can find postings from the Preschool, the Diocese, the Episcopal Church, and the National Cathedral, plus some fun and humorous items.

For December, the Food Pantry is collecting toothpaste, brushes, and denture supplies.

They need egg cartons and paper bags. There is a basket in the narthex, or you can kindly bring the items to the office.

The Food Pantry can always use some help on Fridays distributing the food. Please arrive around noon. THEY ALSO NEED SOMEONE WHO SPEAKS OR UNDERSTANDS SPANISH TO HELP WITH CHECK-IN.  The person does not need to be fluent - any help is appreciated.

The Food Pantry will be closed Friday December 27th and January 3rd due to the holidays.

Last week we served approximately 137 families – with the household average of 3.2 people, this represents 437 individuals. And multiplied by 4.33 weeks in a month, this equates to an average of 1898 people served.  What a community impact!

It's easy to give online to the Church!  Just click on the following link:   https://onrealm.org/StWilfredSarasota/-/form/give/UZZDBUOJGC .

There is no need to log in. You can designate which fund you wish to contribute to.
