LEADERSHIP

OUR PRIESTS
The clergy, in addition to their sacramental, preaching, teaching and administrative responsibilities, offer pre-baptismal and pre-marital counseling, provide support during relationship challenges and are available at time of crisis and death.

Assisting Pastor

Father Andy also grew up in Sarasota. In fact, he was a classmate of the Rev. Joyce at Riverview High School. Andy and his family moved to Sarasota from Philadelphia in 1960. They built a house in Southgate Ridge and joined St. Wilfred while Father Ricker, the founding priest, was still vicar. He graduated from Riverview in 1967 and went to Randolph-Macon College in Virginia. While there, he married Sybil, his wife of more than 50 years. During college, he worked as a youth minister and music director for a small rural church. After college, Andy attended the Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, Mass. He was ordained in 1975 and his first church job was at Trinity-by-the-Cove in Naples, FL. Other appointments took him to Shaker Heights, Ohio; Painesville, Ohio; Virginia Beach, Va. and Memphis, TN. Since his retirement, he has done a number of interim rector jobs around the country, including in Grosse Pointe, MI, and Breckenridge, CO. He has also served at St. George’s College in Jerusalem.

The Rev. Canon Everett Walk

Assisting Pastor

Reverend Ev was born in Washington, DC, grew up in Reading, PA, graduated from Virginia Seminary, and was ordained in 1977. He has moved steadily southward in Florida since his first position at St. John's Church, Tallahassee. After serving as the interim for two years, he moved to the Cathedral Church of St. Luke, where he was Canon Pastor. In Orlando, on Saturdays, he served as Pastor in the emergency trauma unit of Orlando Regional Medical Center. This is where his love for Celtic Spirituality deepened and gave him a focus and direction that has enriched his life and aided others. Before retiring, he was rector of St. Margaret's of Scotland and moved the mission to parish status. During retirement, he has assisted the Diocese by teaching in the School for Deacons, doing supply work throughout the Diocese, remaining faithful to his dedication to prayer life, assisting individuals in the discernment process, and is a spiritual director to many.
