Women dedicated to prayer and service to the people at St. Wilfred are welcome to join Daughters of the King (DOK). The DOK members meet monthly, third Sunday of the month at 11:30 AM.

We strive to unite the men of our church and our community with Action, Integrity and Maturity. AIM members meet monthly, on the third Sunday of the month at 11:30 AM.

Composed of clergy and lay members, this group prays with and offers Holy Eucharist to those in hospitals, nursing homes, and the homebound.

Eucharistic Ministers assist at the Liturgy on Sundays and at other services. Lay Eucharistic Visitors bring communion to homebound parishioners after the services. Both require training and licensing by the Diocese of Southwest Florida.

The members of the Altar Guild begin their weekly duties with a prayer. They prepare the table and sacraments for the Sunday celebration of the Eucharist and any other rites or services, including baptisms, weddings, and funerals.

Reverently they read the lessons from the Old and New Testaments. The priest or deacon reads the Gospel. These readings and the sermon constitute our study of the Scripture, which, along with reason and tradition, form the basis of the Episcopal religion.

The ministry of the ushers is one of hospitality. We welcome people to worship, greeting them with a smile and handing out bulletins. We direct people to the altar during communion and help before and after the service.

The job of an acolyte is to assist the celebrant and enhance the worship service to glorify God. The duties of an acolyte include the lighting and extinguishing of the candles, carrying the cross and helping the priest with the service.

We arrange fresh flowers for the sanctuary. It is a fun, rewarding, and beautiful way to get to know each other and design beautiful flowers for the glory of God.

It provides a prayerful, private and beautiful site on the parish grounds as a permanent resting place and remembrance for our departed loved ones. We provide perpetual care of the Memorial Garden in the form of maintenance, design and sustainability of the plantings. Our Outdoor Chapel facing the Garden is a peaceful place for meditation and worship. 

We offer seasonal educational programs aimed at helping us better understand the Christian faith and transform our lives as we become disciples of Christ together.

There’s a lot of work to do behind the scenes that doesn’t show on Sundays. A group of industrious workers fold bulletins, count pledges and contributions, record baptisms, weddings, and funerals, and take on projects assigned to them by the priest.
