We hope that everyone had a nice holiday. Our Christmas Eve service was lovely - it is always special to have the harp included with the musicians. You can watch the service on Facebook or YouTube.
Yesterday our new Jewish friends brought our leftover poinsettias and homemade cookies to our shut ins from St. Wilfred Church. It is about love isn't it? Perhaps we can share in their holiday spirit during a Jewish holiday season in the future. Certainly this gesture is a refreshing spirit from our new friends. We can thank Sarah and Laurel for the connection. You can see photos on our Facebook group page:
I encourage you to poke around on our Facebook pages - there are some very nice photos of our activities.
This week’s Coffee Hour is a New Year’s Party hosted by the Daughters of the King.
The office is closed until Tuesday, January 7th. We are checking phone messages remotely.
Stewardship and the Advent Giving "season" is in progress. By now you should have received information on our activities, monetary & volunteer opportunities, and your annual pledge card. Funds postmarked by December 31st will be credited towards your 2024 giving. And please return your pledge card as soon as possible so we may begin working on the 2025 budget.
In the Narthex and at the breezeway door there are sign up sheets for complimentary name badges and for altar flower sponsorship for 2025.
The Annual Congregational Meeting will be Sunday, January 26th after the regular service during Coffee Hour. Please bring a dish as it will be POTLUCK!
This month's plate collection is for the Daughters of the King Outreach programs (except this Sunday will go toward the Bishop's Discretionary Fund).
Facebook is a fun way to stay connected with the Church and its news and happenings! You can find postings from the Preschool, the Diocese, the Episcopal Church, and the National Cathedral, plus some fun and humorous items.
For December, the Food Pantry is collecting toothpaste, brushes, and denture supplies.
They need egg cartons and paper bags. There is a basket in the narthex, or you can kindly bring the items to the office.
The Food Pantry can always use some help on Fridays distributing the food. Please arrive around noon. THEY ALSO NEED SOMEONE WHO SPEAKS OR UNDERSTANDS SPANISH TO HELP WITH CHECK-IN. The person does not need to be fluent - any help is appreciated.
The Food Pantry will be closed Friday December 27th and January 3rd due to the holidays.
It's easy to give online to the Church! Just click on the following link: https://onrealm.org/StWilfredSarasota/-/form/give/UZZDBUOJGC .
There is no need to log in. You can designate which fund you wish to contribute to.
